Illusione Singulare LE 2010

The Singulare LE 2010 ("Phantom") is one of the new cigars from Illusione. This limited edition cigar is just starting to hit shops, but being a limited edition, might not be around for very long! Only 1,000 boxes of 15 are being released this year. The 2010  release measures in at 6x50, and a new size will be released under the Singulare brand every year. All I know about the blend is that this is a Nicaraguan Puro like the rest of Dion's cigars.

This cigar has a slightly rustic wrapper, but is very well made and seems to be rolled evenly. The band is similar to the classic Illusione band, but the text is silver (making it VERY hard to photograph...). The predraw shows a perfect draw with heavy flavors of wood and earth. Once lit, the Singulare starts out with a little bit of spice, strong oak flavors, and some leather in here as well. This is definitely something different compared to Illusione or Epernay. I am picking up a little sweetness in this blend as well. After just an inch of the "Phantom" I can tell this is going to be a complex cigar. Already there are a ton of different flavors present, some I am not able to quite pin down. The salt and pepper colored ash holds on for just over an inch, and the burn has been pretty even so far. This seems to be a full flavored, medium bodied cigar during the first third. As I reach the halfway point, the heavy wood flavor has backed off, and the leather notes have become more prominent. There is also a little bit of that dried fruit sweetness in this blend that I really enjoy.

The Singulare LE 2010 is another fantastic cigar from Illusione! Its no secret that Dion's cigars are some of my favorites, and this is another that won't disappoint. This ended up being a solid medium bodied cigar with a nice complexity to the flavors. I have seen these available for up to $180 for a box of 15, but I was fortunate enough to get them for about $10.25 a piece. This is one that I would love to pick up a box of. I think that these have some great aging potential. If you see these, definitely give them a shot!
